- Tournament Director reserves the right to alter the format based on numbers of entries.
- Winner of the spin of ball or rock paper scissors chooses serve, receive or side for first set. The other captain chooses from remaining options. Loser of choice of first set gets to make first choice for second set. Respin or rock paper scissors for third set.
- Shared warm-up time (maximum 10 minutes)
- Match may start early if court is available and everyone is present and agree to start early.
- Forfeits: If any player on a team is not present by 10 minutes after scheduled start time, the first set is forfeited. The second set and match will be forfeited after another 10 minutes without a full team.
- Format: Match Play, best-of-three sets played to 21, 21, (15). Rally scoring; win by two. Double-elimination bracket play. Tournament Director reserves the option to change bracket play to single elimination and/or modify the scoring as needed because of time constraints. (ex: “one set to 28,” or “two sets only to 21, without deciding set”). Players are encouraged to “call the score” before serving.
- Officials: Teams will also serve as officials and be the given “working” assignments. During bracket play, the losing team stays and officiates the next match. Any disputes will be decided by Commissioner Marisa Gaalema, who will be the Tournament Director.

- Screening: Serving team must take positions so that the receiving team can see the server. Receiving team should use the “raised hand” signal to indicate a potential screen. Serving team should adjust position, without delay.
- Time Outs: Each team may call two per set. Timeouts last 60 seconds (including time to get on the court and be ready to play). If it appears teams are taking too long for timeouts, officials should verbalize a 15 seconds-remaing warning.
- Set Intervals: The time between sets is a maximum of 2 minutes.
- Balls: Beach volleyballs will be provided at the facility and will be considered the official game ball.
